our story

From Houston,
From the Start

Yoyo’s began in Houston in 2010 as a small, family-run food cart. There was no big roadmap or expansion plan at the beginning. The goal was simple. Make something good, treat people well, and see where it led.

Houston is a city with endless food options, but not every place lasts. From the beginning, we believed that consistency, care, and respect for the food mattered more than variety or flash. That belief shaped how Yoyo’s grew and why it still feels familiar today.

Finding Our Way Through the City

Before settling into our current locations, Yoyo’s moved through different parts of the city. Fox Hollow. Rice Village. East Downtown. Each stop brought new lessons and new regulars.

Those years were about paying attention. Learning what worked, what did not, and how to keep improving without losing the feel of the place. Nothing about Yoyo’s happened overnight, and that pace was intentional.

Why a Hot Dog?

We chose the hot dog because it is familiar, widely loved, & often underestimated. It is simple food, & simple food leaves very little room for mistakes.

Over time, we refined the recipe and the process until it felt right. Today, we serve 100 percent all-beef hot dogs because that is what we believe in & what we are proud to stand behind.

Built Close & Run With Care

Yoyo’s has always been family owned and operated. That shows up in the way we work and the way we treat people.

We are hands-on. We care about how things are done. We notice when something feels off and try to fix it. We enjoy talking with customers, recognizing regulars, and welcoming people who are stopping by for the first time.

Those everyday interactions are a big part of what keeps Yoyo’s grounded.
